What is the Art Appreciation Group?

The Art Appreciation Group was started in Brisbane, Australia in January 2012. The current coordinator is Christine Groh.

The group meets every second Friday of the month in the afternoon at the Garden City Library in Upper Mt Gravatt Qld.

We discuss a different artist or art movement every month and, to keep it more interesting, those who wish to give a presentation can do so. This way the presenter can talk about the artist of his/her choice, giving us a greater variety of artists and art style.

Our Presentations & Discussions

Our Presentations

Most presenters use a PowerPoint presentation to show the artist's works. This helps to understand the subject matter and leads to group discussions which are lively and interactive. Anyone can question, comment or discuss issues related to the subject during the presentation.

Feedback from our members is that they gain a better understanding and appreciation for an artist even if they did not initially know the artist's work.

What does it Cost?

There is no charge to attend the meetings. Tea and coffee are provided.
